My DJ ExperienceI started out as a young apprentice at 16 in the Bacchus nightclub Kinsale under the name “Cheeky D” and progressed to take a permanent spot in the DJ booth at 18. I remained in Bacchus nightclub until travelling to Jersey on a working holiday where I also had the pleasure of working as an MC/DJ in the Jersey Bowl.
On returning home, I was back in my spot in the Bacchus and after a few years spent in London where I became the first and only DJ to this day to hold residence in the Porter House, Covent Garden in London's trendy West End. Once back on home soil, I again returned back to the post of resident DJ in the Bacchus night club under the new name of “The Back Room” organising specialist nights ( see Mango photo’s in gallery ). Within the nightclub I was also responsible for the role of organising the rosters of all DJ’s hired. I have continued my DJ’ing at weekends in many venues around Ireland for many years while also playing at corporate events and wedding/birthday parties locally in Cork. I have a residency in Hamlet's in Kinsale and I am currently the only DJ for the main tent at the infamous Heineken rugby 7s tent where I play an 8 hour set on both days. |
PERSONAL TASTE:
|
Eclectic is a word that sums my taste in music. Liking genres such as Motown, Blues, 60's, 70’s, 80’s, 90's, British Punk/Pop,Reggae,Hip Hop (present and old skool), R ‘n’ B, Grunge, Folk, Dance, Acid Jazz,Lounge music, House, Indie, Rock, Easy listening,World music,Tribal,Trip hop and current chart to name just a few. But when it comes to DJ’ing it’s all about reading the crowd and knowing how to create the best vibe, a speciality of mine!

MY STYLE: |
Although it can be arranged I tend to not stick to one type of genre when DJ’ing. A full consultation will define what
kind of music you the client would like played at your event and provisional
sample playlists can be put together and discussed with input from both parties
being the key to a great night.
